I apologize for the delay... Last week's snow days really threw me off... BUT here is what is currently going on in the Tech Lab.
6th Grade - 6th Graders have finished their chapter work (YAY!) and have transitioned in to project based work. We started things off with a discussion on the forces that are applied to transportation technology. We then built and flew paper airplanes (it's a lot harder than it sounds). Currently, to the student's delight, we are working on our main term project... ROCKETS! Students are currently building their rockets and once completed, they will be launched in the back field with compressed air!
7th Grade - 7th Graders have finished their Mouse Trap Cars and have transitioned into the water testing project that will going on through out the rest of the term. If you don't know, the 7th graders will be testing the quality of the Mystic River in back of the school. They will be testing samples and recording they findings on line.
8th Grade - 8th Graders are currently working on their main term project which is the planning and building of model bridges... Students are using the Engineering Design Process to plan out bridge and with the toll, machines and materials in class they then build the bridge.
